Blueberry Trout, established in 1990, began as clothing line made from hand painted sueded rayon. The fabric was luxurious, plentiful, and accepted direct application dye in a incredible lustrous way.

The garment designs were secondary to the vibrant painting and by ‘93- they were sold in high end galleries across the USA.

The textile industry changed, and the fabric became very expensive and harder to acquire. Shipping from overseas and yardage cost became untenable.

2023:
Although sueded rayon is not longer manufactured, the old stock I have is what I am using to create 1 yard hand painted images and designs. These designs are printed onto yardage and sewn into wearables and wall hangings.
Blueberry Trout Textiles revitalized is being revealed this year.

Butter Monkey Sweaters, established in 2001, were born of the realization that the materials I had been using to create my work weren’t sustainable. I was adding too much to the overtaxed planets burden.

When the carbon footprint outweighed my desire to continue creating couture, i did a 180.  I discovered where to get ahold of last chance garments, before they were bundled up to go to a land fill or a tanker to India, and decided to remake them.

My love of luscious textiles drew me to the woven items and
ButterMonkeySweaters were born!
